Friday, October 15 – Optional Team Practice

All registered LEMWOD Sailing Teams will have the option to charter a Catalina 37 yacht for a team practice on Friday, October 15, at a reduced charter price of $___. Teams will practice on their assigned boats. Practice time is anytime between 1200 Hours to 1830 Hours (sunset). This option must be requested in advance and payment received no later than Friday, October 1, 2010. See Charter Application for more information.

Saturday, October 16 & Sunday, October 17

Hospitality Desk

The Hospitality Desk will be located in Long Beach Yacht Club’s lobby. Volunteers will assist with skippers & crew check-in, spectator boat reservations and Saturday night dinner tickets.

Saturday - 0800 to 1100 Hours

Sunday - 1000 to 1100 Hours

Spectator Boats

Spectator boats will be available both Saturday & Sunday. Guest reservations can be made at the Hospitality Desk. There is no charge for spectator boats; however, all guests must wear soft-soled shoes and bring a lunch and beverage. The boats will not return to the dock between races.

Race Photos

There will be photographers on the race course both Saturday and Sunday to capture all the action.

Saturday, October 16 Regatta Dinner & Dancing at LBYC

The Regatta Dinner will be in the Main Dining Room at LBYC. Dinner tickets are available to all racers, coaches and guests on a pre-paid basis for $__. Payment must be received prior to October 1, 2010. Click on the Regatta Dinner Reservations link to purchase tickets online using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AmEx) or PayPal. A very limited number of dinner tickets will be available on Saturday morning for $30. Dancing will follow immediately after dinner.

Silent Auction

Be sure to check out the Silent Auction on Saturday night during dinner.

Sunday, October 17 Trophy Presentation

Trophy presentation will be held at 1700 Hours or as soon as possible after racing. Hot & cold appetizers and a no-host bar will accompany team introductions and final trophy presentation. Long Beach Yacht Club Sailing Foundation will present the Linda Elias Sailing Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to the winning team.

LINDA ELIAS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The regatta was renamed to honor a friend and fellow sailor, Linda Elias. Linda pioneered local and long distance ocean sailing opportunities for women in Southern California. The Long Beach Yacht Club Sailing Foundation has created a sailing scholarship in her honor. Donation cards will be available and your donation is tax deductible. Your participation is greatly encouraged and appreciated by those who are granted financial support to achieve their sailing goals.
